Platters have a big part to play in the kitchen arena during the Christmas time - perfect choice for serving up mince pies, canapés, or even the main event—whether that's turkey, a nut roast, or whatever you serve. They're also ideal for creating a stunning centrepiece with candles or displaying sweet treats on your dining table. The possibilities are endless!
Now, what says Christmas more than having a huge, hand drawn, hand painted Rudolph on your chunky china platter?
This medium, rectangle platter is truly a one-off – perfectly imperfect, packed with character and I’d like to think a twinkle in his eyes, and a wiggle in his shiny red nose.
I loved painting and glazing this piece and while decorative, he will happily go in the oven, dishwasher and microwave.

Our chunky china is very different to mass-produced pottery. Expect to see thumb prints, specks in the glaze (which may also be thicker in some parts than others). If there is colour on it, remember it is hand painted so there may be areas where the colour has taken more than in others - it’s what makes our chunky china unique and full of character. Perfectly imperfect pottery and proud of it!
Christmas One-off: medium Rudolph platter
Marigold and Lettice pottery is made to be used, loved and enjoyed; it’s made using sturdy earthenware clay and a thick white glaze. This means it’s hard-wearing and every piece can safely go in the oven, dishwasher, microwave and even the freezer.
Our china is not fine and delicate, it is chunky and full of texture. It is handmade (and homemade) and has a very different look and feel to mass-produced pottery. It'll have thumb prints and markers marks but it is made with love and we hope it brings you joy for many years.
