To me there’s something magical about the designs of old-school wedding cakes and this ‘collection’ is my love letter to this style - the kind of over-the-top detailing that feels nostalgic (in clay not icing) but in true contradictory fashion, feels contemporary due to the all-white glaze.
Yes, these pieces would be lovely for meaningful moments (perfect for bridal tablescapes, wedding gifts, or heirloom pieces to cherish long after the big day), but I also like to think they’ll bring a little romance to the everyday and would be just as lovely used for a Sunday roast or mid week meal. Romance shouldn’t be reserved for special occasions.
Each piece is completely unique and extra chunky - they are all very weighty, detailed, and intentionally one-of-a-kind. Currently, they’re not available to preorder; what you see is what’s available. Because of the handmade decoration, you might spot joins in the piping - little reminders that this isn’t mass-produced. I make perfectly imperfect chunky china, and this feels like a match made in heaven.

Roasting and pie dishes don't have to be boring and functional; they can be pretty and functional too! Quite literally perfect for oven to table and timelessly chunky china and deceptively deep to boot.
This medium sized (24cm round, 7.5cm tall) piece is great as a roaster, but it also make a fabulous pie dish, crumble dish, salad bowl, fruit bowl or just a beautiful piece to display on your shelves! As well as the piping style decorations on the side, it even has decorative edging around the top too (more is more with this piece!)

Caring for your pottery:
Marigold and Lettice pottery is made from white earthenware clay and designed to be used and enjoyed every day. We personally use our pieces in the oven, dishwasher, and microwave. However, to prolong the life of your pottery, handwashing is the gentler choice, as dishwashers can be tough on handmade items due to high-pressure jets and strong detergents and may overtime cause damage and speed up any grazing in the glaze.
While we do microwave our own pieces, for longevity we suggest heating food in the oven where possible.

Our china looks and feels very (very) different to mass-produced pottery; it’s not fine or delicate, but wonderfully chunky and full of texture, you’ll see thumb prints, makers marks, glaze specks/drips and heaps of individuality. We call it perfectly imperfect pottery and firmly believe it’s all the better for it!
