The ultimate in festive feels, our Christmas Bauble collection has become a beloved classic. With a mix of shapes, sizes, and colours, these twinkling baubles aren’t just decorations — they’re little bursts of festive joy! 
 
A large serving dish (around 24cm wide and 11cm tall) is one of the most versatile pieces on a Christmas table. Ideal for festive entertaining - use it to serve roast potatoes, dishing up (posh) crisps and nibbles, perfect for a family trifle (or any desserts) or just to have on the sofa for scoffing festive choccy treats.
 
WHAT MAKES IT A SECOND...
Unfortunately, during handling this dish was knocked, which caused a small area of glaze on one of the (yellow) baubles to chip away. The bauble itself wasn’t damaged structurally, but the impact did leave a patch of bare clay exposed.
 
To tidy this up, I used a yellow permanent marker to fill the unglazed area, and the colour has now absorbed into the fired clay. This improves the appearance, though the colour difference is still visible and isn't shiny like the glaze colour would have been. Overall, however, it blends in reasonably well.
 
As this is purely an exterior decoration, it doesn’t affect the inside of the dish/bowl where food is held, so it can still be used as normal. I would just recommend gentle hand-washing rather than using the dishwasher.

Caring for your pottery:
Marigold and Lettice pottery is made from white earthenware clay and designed to be used and enjoyed every day. We personally use our pieces in the oven, dishwasher, and microwave. However, to prolong the life of your pottery, handwashing is the gentler choice, as dishwashers can be tough on handmade items due to high-pressure jets and strong detergents and may overtime cause damage and speed up any grazing in the glaze. 
 
Because of the gold on this piece, it MUST NOT be used in the microwave!
