Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without lots and lots of twinkling fairy lights, and our festive Fairy Light collection has become a beloved annual classic. Each piece bursts with personality, featuring textured, chunky pottery bulbs and gleaming gold bayonets.

Whether you’re serving up gravy, brandy sauce or pouring out mulled wine, this large jug (standing around 13cm wide, 14cm long, 16cm tall...) brings warmth and charm to every festive gathering.

WHAT MAKES IT A SECOND...

Unfortunately, during drying one of the bayonets got a little squashed (my bad!) and I didn’t notice until after it had been fired. It’s since been glazed and golded, but that ‘smooshed’ bayonet is a noticeably flatter, mis-shaped and smoother than the others. Please check out the pictures.

While we’re at it, there’s also a slightly gritty patch of glaze on one side, and a slightly heavier-than-usual drip. Nothing too noticeable, but I wanted to flag it — it’s been factored into the 50% discount.

Caring for your pottery:

Marigold and Lettice pottery is made from white earthenware clay and designed to be used and enjoyed every day. We personally use our pieces in the oven, dishwasher, and microwave. However, to prolong the life of your pottery, handwashing is the gentler choice, as dishwashers can be tough on handmade items due to high-pressure jets and strong detergents and may overtime cause damage and speed up any grazing in the glaze.

While we do microwave our own pieces, for longevity we suggest heating food in the oven where possible.

I M P O R T A N T    I N F O R M A T I O N

Our china looks and feels very (very) different to mass-produced pottery; it’s not fine or delicate, but wonderfully chunky and full of texture, you’ll see thumb prints, makers marks, glaze specks/drips and heaps of individuality. We call it perfectly imperfect pottery and firmly believe it’s all the better for it!
