A platter has many uses - serving dish, fruit bowl (plate), tray for candles or condiments, just about anything and this large oval all-tied-up ribbon platter is the platter to end all platters (even if we say so ourselves!)
 
The ribbon is handmade (as everything is of course) and is deliciously 3D with undulating curves and folds.  The ribbon stands proud but is still fully integral to the platter.
 
WHAT MAKES IT A SECOND...
 
If I'm honest, this isn't a second, it's just a slightly different take on the intended design. By that I mean that the ends of the ribbon usually has a v shaped design to it.... BUT As I was putting this into the kiln I tapped the end of this platter (duh) and it took the v end clean off - leaving a lovely blunt end to one of ribbons. It has been fully glazed though so able to be used as normal!
 
Of course - to me - it just adds to the character, but it isn't what I promise on the website, so to reflect this slight (non) issue it's been discounted by 15%!
 
 
Caring for your pottery:
Marigold and Lettice pottery is made from white earthenware clay and designed to be used and enjoyed every day. We personally use our pieces in the oven, dishwasher, and microwave. However, to prolong the life of your pottery, handwashing is the gentler choice, as dishwashers can be tough on handmade items due to high-pressure jets and strong detergents and may overtime cause damage and speed up any grazing in the glaze. 
While we do microwave our own pieces, for longevity we suggest heating food in the oven where possible.

Our china looks and feels very (very) different to mass-produced pottery; it’s not fine or delicate, but wonderfully chunky and full of texture, you’ll see thumb prints, makers marks, glaze specks/drips and heaps of individuality. We call it perfectly imperfect pottery and firmly believe it’s all the better for it!
