This medium sized oval Christmas platter is the perfect choice for serving up mince pies, canapés, or even as part of the main event - roast potatoes, carved turkey or a nut roast.
 
Size wise this platter is around 31cm long, 23cm wide, 2cm tall.
 
WHAT MAKES IT A SECOND...
You could say this is a good second—almost not even one—but I’m being picky! It’s still classed as a non-first because at one end there is a slight discolouration in the clay on the outer rim on one small area of the platter: just a bit creamer/darker not so white, which shows through the white glaze ever so slightly, but you have to look closely!
 
I’ve tried to highlight this small imperfections in the photos, although they are subtle and can be hard to see. Reflecting them, the piece has been discounted by 10%.
 
Caring for your pottery:
Marigold and Lettice pottery is made from white earthenware clay and designed to be used and enjoyed every day. We personally use our pieces in the oven, dishwasher, and microwave. However, to prolong the life of your pottery, handwashing is the gentler choice, as dishwashers can be tough on handmade items due to high-pressure jets and strong detergents and may overtime cause damage and speed up any grazing in the glaze. 
 
Because of the gold on this piece, it MUST NOT be used in the microwave!

Our china looks and feels very (very) different to mass-produced pottery; it’s not fine or delicate, but wonderfully chunky and full of texture, you’ll see thumb prints, makers marks, glaze specks/drips and heaps of individuality. We call it perfectly imperfect pottery and firmly believe it’s all the better for it!
