Wax/oil burner - plain

Wax/oil burner - plain

Whether you want to burn oil or wax melts, why wouldn't you want to do it in chunky china one.

Just stick a tea light in the base and bobs your uncle.

What to make it sparkle even more - why not add a gold edge to your order!

This listing is for a plain burner (although there is nothing plain about it!), but we also have other styles too. Click here for a bobble one, here for a star one, here for a lantern-style one and here for a scattered flower one!

IMPORTANT - burner care

These burners are designed to be used with 4-hour tea lights, not the larger 8-hour ones.  We recommend you light the candle outside of the burner and let it have a good flame before you place it gently in the base of the burner.  We also suggest that you keep the tealight  towards the front of the burner rather than pushed to the back, allowing  for air/oxygen circulating through.

  • Marigold and Lettice pottery

Marigold and Lettice pottery is made to be used, loved and enjoyed; itโ€™s made using sturdy earthenware clay and a thick white glaze. This means itโ€™s hard-wearing and every piece can safely go in the oven, dishwasher, microwave and even the freezer.

Each piece that is made by Marigold and Lettice is totally handmade and a one-off. So, if you see thumb prints in the clay or the glaze that may be thicker in some parts than others, it's because each piece is unique and is what gives our chunky china its specialness, and a different look and feel to mass-produced pottery.

When you first get your chunky china piece you may hear a โ€˜pingโ€™ - especially the first time the pottery meets with water.  If you do, please donโ€™t worry, it's really quite normal and will stop as soon as the glaze/clay settles down together.  You may also notice that the bottom of every piece is left unglazed, and this may leave a slight residue on your shelves, but can be easily wiped away with a damp cloth.

Like with all china, over time you may also notice signs of use in the glaze, but these are just signs of the china being well-loved. If this is the case, please be assured, the piece will still be perfectly fine to use.
