Getting your perfect piece to you is our priority but as each piece is made to order (we don't hold any pieces in stock), the process takes a MINIMUM OF A MONTH although this is just a guide and if it goes over please bear with us, if it goes under let's celebrate!

Budgies are for life, fact! Budgies are also for chunky china and very much for chunky china serving bowls! These are unique in every way - and while I hate the term quirky and kitsch being used to describe my pottery, I'm afraid that is just the right term for this piece!
 
This large serving bowl is perfect for anything and everything.  Big enough to make an excellent fruit bowl, perfect for a salad, ideal to take to the table as a serving dish, and bold enough to impress anyone - even if empty! Adorned with a three budgies (small, medium and large) in blue/cream, green/yellow, pink/orange respectively.
 
You must remember though that the budgies are handmade and hand painted so each will be slightly different in placement and colour. Remember they are chunky interpretations of budgies and their colours - not an anatomically correct replica!!
 
Please note that the extra large plastic pigeon isn't part of the pottery - merely a photo prop!!!
 
 
Caring for your pottery
Marigold and Lettice pottery is made from white earthenware clay and designed to be used and enjoyed every day. We personally use our pieces in the oven, dishwasher, and microwave. However, to prolong the life of your pottery, handwashing is the gentler choice, as dishwashers can be tough on handmade items due to high-pressure jets and strong detergents and may overtime cause damage and speed up any grazing in the glaze. 
While we do microwave our own pieces, for longevity we suggest heating food in the oven where possible. 
 
I M P O R T A N T    I N F O R M A T I O N
Our china looks and feels very (very) different to mass-produced pottery; it’s not fine or delicate, but wonderfully chunky and full of texture, you’ll see thumb prints, makers marks, glaze specks/drips and heaps of individuality. We call it perfectly imperfect pottery and firmly believe it’s all the better for it!
