The piece of pottery you didn't know you needed, but might soon wonder how you managed without: Houmous & Dip Pots.
 
No decanting. No fuss.
 
These handmade lidded pots are designed to hide supermarket houmous and dip tubs, instantly making snacks feel a little more put together while keeping the plastic container out of the spotlight.
Simply pop your houmous (or whatever dip takes your fancy – we're partial to tzatziki too) straight in — plastic pot and all — add the matching lid, and serve. If there's any left, pop it back in the fridge without the top going all crusty. Perfect for grazing tables, chips and dips in the garden, or making an informal gathering feel a little more put together.
 
I make them in two sizes. The taller pot is designed to fit a standard 300g supermarket tub, while the shorter size works with most 170g pots. There may be a little wiggle room, as supermarkets all seem to use slightly different containers, but I've tried to make them as versatile as possible wherever you shop.
 
Please note: While each dip pot and lid are made as a pair, they are handmade pieces and clay can behave differently during firing. This means there will be gaps between the lid and base — some larger than others. We think this adds to the charm and individuality of handmade pottery, but we don't want you to expect a perfectly tight-fitting lid.

* the shorter pot will have one row of flowers circling the pot, the taller one will have two
 
Caring for your pottery:
Marigold and Lettice pottery is made from white earthenware clay and designed to be used and enjoyed every day. We personally use our pieces in the oven, dishwasher, and microwave. However, to prolong the life of your pottery, handwashing is the gentler choice, as dishwashers can be tough on handmade items due to high-pressure jets and strong detergents and may overtime cause damage and speed up any grazing in the glaze. 
While we do microwave our own pieces, for longevity we suggest heating food in the oven where possible. 
 
I M P O R T A N T    I N F O R M A T I O N
Our china looks and feels very (very) different to mass-produced pottery; it’s not fine or delicate, but wonderfully chunky and full of texture, you’ll see thumb prints, makers marks, glaze specks/drips and heaps of individuality. We call it perfectly imperfect pottery and firmly believe it’s all the better for it!
