The problem with being a potter? Too many ideas… and not enough shelf space. Over the years, I’ve made (and kept!) so many pieces I’ve loved - but with kitchen shelves groaning and space running out, I’ve decided it’s time to (grudgingly) part with a small selection from my personal collection.

These are pre-loved, gently used, and full of character - and they’re all being offered at a discounted price to reflect that.

Bobbles were one of the very first designs I created, and they remain one of my all-time favourites - and a firm favourite with customers too.

This piece is a special take on my ever-popular serving bowl, made just for us. I played with the form to give it a chunkier, more uneven edge, rolled in a way that feels nostalgic - almost like old-fashioned ironstone pottery.

This large scattered bobble bowl (approximately 25cm wide and 10cm tall) has had pride of place on our shelves. It’s been gently used and enjoyed and while it has a few tiny pinprick bobbles in the glaze on the rim (they developed in the glaze firing, not through use by us just be clear!), I like to think they only add to the character of a piece already packed with texture, charm, and bobbly goodness.

** Right at the bottom on the base at one side there is a bit of thick glazing where a drip has collected in a bit of a thumb print dip, and inside there is a little bit of marking where a previous bowl has rested inside (it could well come off with a bit of kitchen cleaner)  - neither detract in the overall look and feel or use, but it has also been reflected in the price... **

To reflect its pre-loved and minor glitch nature, this piece is reduced by 50% as it is still full of life and ready to be loved all over again.

Caring for your pottery:

Marigold and Lettice pottery is made from white earthenware clay and designed to be used and enjoyed every day. We personally use our pieces in the oven, dishwasher, and microwave. However, to prolong the life of your pottery, handwashing is the gentler choice, as dishwashers can be tough on handmade items due to high-pressure jets and strong detergents and may overtime cause damage and speed up any grazing in the glaze.

While we do microwave our own pieces, for longevity we suggest heating food in the oven where possible.

I M P O R T A N T    I N F O R M A T I O N

Our china looks and feels very (very) different to mass-produced pottery; it’s not fine or delicate, but wonderfully chunky and full of texture, you’ll see thumb prints, makers marks, glaze specks/drips and heaps of individuality. We call it perfectly imperfect pottery and firmly believe it’s all the better for it!
