If you've got a chunky china cake stand it doesn't matter if your cake decorating skills aren't MasterChef or The Great British Bake-Off standards. Chunky china is only ingredient you need to add! 
 
With quite a tall pedestal base surrounded by pearly swags and cascades, this is a darling of a standard sized cake stand... Chunky yes but with a delicacy about the pearls that gives it a charmingly vintage, almost regal feel, but with a very modern usability as of course it goes in the dishwasher.
 
What makes it a second?:
Unfortunately, as you can hopefully see from the pictures, there are quite a lot of bobbling in the glaze across the plate of the cake stand, and in a few areas around the edge too. Of course, this doesn’t affect the ability to use the cake stand in any way (especially as it is just areas where the cake will be placed!) but reflecting these cosmetic markings, this standard sized cake stand has been discounted by 30%.
