Now our chunky china can tell you the time! Our large handmade wall clock is more than just a way to track the hours—it’s a statement piece. Featuring a flowing ribbon on the plate, the outside edge is a matching pink too, and pink accents to mark the hours, along with gold hands.
 
It comes fitted with a silent quartz mechanism which keeps time quietly and reliably, and there is an inbuilt hook in the clock device to allow it to be hung on a wall, although it looks lovely balanced on a shelf or mantlepiece too. It will require one AA battery (not included) – just gently move the hands to the right time before inserting the battery.
 
WHAT MAKES IT A SECOND...
This clock is what I’d call a really good second. The flaw is subtle - you’d have to go looking, and even then you might need your strongest reading glasses - but it’s there, so here it is in the seconds sale.
In the spirit of full disclosure: this clock wasn’t actually meant to happen (at least not like this).
 
The style was on my list, but this particular piece began life with a ribbon decoration. During drying, the ribbon unfortunately broke in two - unceremoniously and beyond repair. But the plate itself? Still perfectly beautiful.
 
I removed the ribbon, but a tiny bit of scoring remains at the top where the bow was once attached. It’s been carefully smoothed down, though if you look closely, you might spot it - and the white glaze has pooled ever so slightly in that area.
 
That said, the hand-painted ribbon and bow, along with the pink edging, more than make up for it. This clock is currently a one-off, and despite its charm, it’s been reduced by 15% to reflect the tiniest of imperfections.
 
* If the hands have been pressed down during transit, they can easily/gently be lifted back into place to move freely again.

Our china looks and feels very (very) different to mass-produced pottery; it’s not fine or delicate, but wonderfully chunky and full of texture, you’ll see thumb prints, makers marks, glaze specks/drips and heaps of individuality. We call it perfectly imperfect pottery and firmly believe it’s all the better for it!
